Wind in the Willows

Wind In The Willows grew out of the stories Kenneth Graham told to-and perhaps about- his son Alistair when he was a boy and was published in 1908. Graham didn’t publish any further books, but the success of this enchanting tale, ensures he has been remembered ever since.

Rickmansworth Players are presenting the renowned author and actor Alan Bennett’s brilliant adaptation of the play with music at Watersmeet in Rickmansworth.  His characters are brought to life with great realism, compassion and of course humour. The play draws many parallels, and highlights satirical imbalances, within the English class system. Alan Bennett’s version of the story played to appreciative audiences of all ages at the National Theatre for many performances.

Toad, Ratty and Mole - Wind in the WillowsWind in the Willows’ wry humor appeals to adults as much as the tremendous fun appeals to children, so come and join dapper Ratty (Simon Dresser) adorable Mole (Lee Farman) cheeky Toad (Paul Skinner) and wise old Badger (Jevan Morris) supported by a talented adult cast and by 2 teams of children playing the creatures of the River Bank.

These wonderful friends tackle Toad’s passion for speed in caravans, trains and of course the ‘new fangled motorcar’ rescuing him from many misadventures. Doing battle with the wily Weasels and Stoats from the Wild Wood, who threaten the peaceful River Bank community.
